Spanish Toddler Teacher
Lisa is in her fifth year of working at the ISC and loves working with our toddlers! She completed her Spanish Language and Literature Studies at the University of Valencia prior to enrolling at UVA for her Bachelors of Arts Degree. Lisa is mom to one daughter who is an alumni and loves spending time with family when not at school!

Spanish Toddler Assistant
Elaine is very excited to start her fourth year at ISC. Elaine has worked in a daycare center in the past and has been a babysitter for some of our students. She is a Systems Engineer but loves working with toddlers. She is super happy to teach children her native Spanish and be part of their education of learning a different language.

Spanish Toddler Assistant
Monica (or Monica P as we lovingly call her!) is excited about embarking on her second full year at the ISC. Monica has one child who is attending the ISC in our Spanish Preschool class. She is excited to use her native Spanish with the children and to support your children this upcoming school year!

Roxana Membreno
Spanish Preschool Teacher
Roxana is in her third year in the Spanish Preschool classroom. She has one daughter who will be a rising 2nd Grader in our Spanish program and a son in our Spanish JK class this fall. With a background in Spanish since her parents were from El Salvador, she was inspired to teach Spanish by a librarian where she volunteered. She has nannied for many years to even some of our own ISC families. Roxana is excited to teach your children!

Measar Kareem
Spanish Preschool Assistant
Measar is in his second year as an assistant in the Spanish Preschool classroom and his third year at the ISC. He has two children who are ISC alumni. He loves working with the preschoolers and helping them learn new skills!

Angela Membreno
Spanish Preschool Assistant
Angela (or Miss Angie as the children like to call her!) is in her second year at the ISC. Her son will be joining her at the ISC later this year in the Spanish Toddler class. She is excited for another year guiding our little learners!

Debbie Jo McGowan
Spanish Junior Kindergarten Teacher
Debbie Jo is in her fourth year at the ISC, and she has been in school settings for almost 20 years! With a background in Spanish as her mother is from Nicaragua, she has worked as a Spanish teacher or enrichment teacher in numerous schools in the area. Many of you may also know her as a veteran swim instructor as well! Debbie Jo obtained her Bachelor Degree from Virginia Tech and also obtained a Masters of Art in Teaching from Mary Baldwin. She is excited for another year!

Sophia Storm
Spanish Junior Kindergarten/Kindergarten Teacher
Sophia is in her first year at the ISC. She is returning to Virginia after a wonderful experience living in Madrid, Spain, where she recently completed her master’s degree in bilingual education. Her young daughter will also be attending ISC alongside her. She's thrilled to build meaningful connections within the ISC community and to share her love for the Spanish language and learning. She's excited to foster a classroom where students feel inspired and valued.

Camila Nolte
Spanish Junior Kindergarten Floater
Camila graduated from an American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NY but was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She is excited to use her native Spanish while working with the JK students. She has worked in local daycares and other school settings for the past few years. Since she started teaching she fell in love with teaching kids and guiding them through their childhood development!
