Thad Glowacki, Chair

A graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia School of Law, Thad is a partner and portfolio manager at Brown Advisory. He is responsible for managing the investment portfolios of institutional endowment and foundation clients. Thad has over two decades of experience in the investment industry. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner at Edgehill Endowment Partners where he was responsible for manager selection, asset allocation and portfolio construction for a collection of mission-driven non-profit institutions.. Over the past decade, Thad has advised over 35 different Investment Committees and Boards on their investment programs for endowed assets totaling more than $4 billion. Thad also practiced corporate law in New York City for several years after starting his career as an investment banker. Thad's three children are alumni of the ISC.

Evan Kwiatkowski, Member at Large

Evan is a CPA and Senior Vice President with Silvercrest Asset Management Group in Charlottesville. A graduate of the University of Virginia, Evan has two children who are alumni of the ISC.

Samuel Cagle Juhan, Member at Large

Cagle is a Charlottesville-area attorney who practices federal law in both trial and appeals courts.  He graduated from UVA and UVA Law.   Cagle has been involved with the ISC and its French program since 2021, and he enjoys organizing and assisting with outdoor projects around the ISC campus.

Taylor Odom, Member at Large

Taylor is an attorney based in Charlottesville. He is originally from Louisiana where he received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University and law degree from Loyola University New Orleans. Before attending law school, Taylor spent a year in Metz, France, teaching English through the Teaching Assistants Program in France (TAPIF). While in France, Taylor developed a strong appreciation for education, travel, and the French language and culture, which has brought him back to Europe and other francophone countries over the years. Taylor met his wife, Christina, while in law school. Taylor relocated to Virginia in 2013 and lives in Charlottesville with his wife and son, Theo, who is a student at the ISC.

Cliff Stains, Member at Large

Cliff is a Professor of Chemistry at UVA. Cliff obtained his BS in Biochemistry from Millersville University and PhD in Chemistry from the University of Arizona. He pursued postdoctoral studies at MIT and started his independent career at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, prior to relocating to UVA. Cliff met his wife Marilyne (born and raised in France) during graduate school and their son currently attends ISC.

Aran Shetterly, Member at Large

Aran grew up in rural Maine on a 60-acre homestead, studied literature at Harvard and earned an MA in American Studies from the University of Southern Maine. After working in book publishing and on internet startups, he and Margot, his partner, founded Inside Mexico, which became the most widely distributed English-language periodical in Mexico. Since 2003, he’s been on the staff or board of his father’s art and education project, Americans Who Tell the Truth. Now, Aran spends most of his working hours writing books and as an independent editor helping others write books. Aran’s first book, THE AMERICANO, was described by the National Book Award winner Carlos Eire as "history at its best…based on solid research that reads like a great epic novel." His new book, MORNINGSIDE: The 1979 Greensboro Massacre and the Struggle for an American City’s Soul has been called "essential" by Michelle Alexander, author of The New Jim Crow, and “a welcome glimmer of hope for our divided nation” by The Woman's Hour author Elaine Weiss. He and Margot have lived in Charlottesville, Virginia, since 2016, and have one child who attends the ISC in the Spanish program.

Nell Weber, Parent Representative to the Board

Nell Weber is an education professional who consults on international and domestic projects related to parenting, child development, and early childhood education. She is originally from Houston, Texas, where she attended the French program at Awty International School. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a B.A. in International Studies and French, and from Harvard University with an EdM and EdD in International Education Policy and Cultures, Communities, and Education, respectively. She currently has a child who is an ISC alumna and two children currently in the French program at ISC (toddler and 1st grade).
