Toddler Program

Foreign Language Introduction classes for ages 2-3, with an introduction to both French and Spanish language.

In our toddler program, instruction occurs in English while introducing French and Spanish vocabulary and associated cultures through activities, stories, and song.  Teachers emphasize emotional and social interaction as well as the development of self-help skills, with the goal of instilling an early love of learning.

Our toddler classes are limited to 6 children for each teacher, and maximum attention is given to the individual child to encourage growth and a comfortable pace.  Teachers are in regular communication with parents regarding intellectual, emotional, and physical development, and work as partners to support healthy eating, sleeping/nap, and potty-training efforts.  Children are not required to be toilet-trained for entrance in the toddler class.

School Day

For 2011-2012, the ISC offers two Toddler programs for our youngest students:

Morning Preschool:

9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m,  with five-day, three-day, and two-day attendance options. Flexible Extra Care is available, covering 8-9 am, 12:30-3 pm, or 12:30-5:30 pm.

Afternoon Preschool:

3:00 pm to 5:30 pm, Monday-Wednesday-Friday. This new program follows a similar structure to our morning and full-day classes, helping toddlers learn at a comfortable pace while preparing them for the language immersion program during the preschool years.  Extra Care is NOT available with this option, but the children are encouraged to participate in all school-wide events and programs.

NOTE:
In keeping compliant with our licensing requirements, we are not able to care for children under the age of 2.  We do occasionally allow children to start a few weeks into the school year following their 2nd birthday.
