For the 2008-2009 School Year
Aftercare Head Teacher
Part-time, salaried position
Hours: 2:30-5:40pm Monday-Thursday; 2:00-5:40pm Friday
Job Description:
- Develop and prepare plans and materials to conduct developmentally appropriate activities for children in the Aftercare Program
- Assume ultimate responsibility for the safety and well-being of children and staff and the security and safety of the school building and materials during the Aftercare session
- Supervise the children during the Aftercare session
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (or equiv.) plus six months of experience working with preschool-aged children
- Strong communication skills in English
- Excellent physical and mental health
- Interest in international education
Spanish Preschool Assistant Teacher
Part-time, salaried position with benefits
Hours: 8:00am-1:00pm, Monday-Thursday; 8:00am-3:30pm Friday
Job Description:
- Assist the Head teacher in developing and implementing a developmentally appropriate and individualized curriculum for the children in his/her care
- Assist the Head Teacher with student observation and assessment
- Develop and prepare materials to support the academic and language curricula
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Some professional experience with young children
- Native-like fluency in Spanish, working knowledge of English
- Initiative, ability to work independently

Minimum Qualifications
- Foreign language proficiency is not required, but a working knowledge of French or Spanish is a plus.
- At least one semester course in the areas of child development or early childhood education
